Meta is launching its generative AI, Meta AI, in 41 European countries and 21 overseas territories starting March 20, 2025. The tool will be gradually rolled out across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp, but in a version adapted for Europe with limited functionality compared to the US. A Meta AI button will appear in the apps, and it can be used in WhatsApp conversations by mentioning "@MetaAI." Some functions will be blocked due to European regulations, which had previously delayed the deployment.
